Stepantsminda is a small town in the Mtskheta-Mtianeti region of north-eastern Georgia. Historically and ethnographically, the town is part of the Khevi province. It is the center of the Kazbegi Municipality.

Day 1

Transfer to the hotel. Walking through the city. Discussion of the specifics of the wedding. City tour begins with a visit of the Temple Metekhi, which is situated on a high cliff overhanging the bank of the river Mtkvari. From the observation deck there are most picturesque views of the Old Tbilisi. Next, you will have the opportunity to visit the ancient Narikala Fortress. This is the most famous landmark of Old Tbilisi. Then we will visit important historical part of the city quarter Abanotubani where the famous Sulfur Baths are situated. This is where begins the story of Tbilisi construction, because “tbili” in Georgian means “warm”. Walk through Sharden street. Walk across the Bridge of Peace -it is a footbridge across the river Kura. It is made of a metal frame and is fully covered with glass. Bridge of Peace in Tbilisi belongs to the list of the best bridges in the world. Visiting Sameba. This magnificent building stands on a hilltop of saint Ilia, in the center of the city. From Georgian language Tsminda Sameba is translated as “Holy Trinity”. Supper.Transfer to the hotel. Overnight.

Day 2

The ancient capital of Georgia Mtskheta, situated at the confluence of the Aragvi and the Mtkvari rivers; Mtskheta is the site of the first Christian churches in Georgia. We visit Jvari Monastery (6th century), located at the top of the hill. This is the place where the missionary St Nino erected a cross (“jvari” in Georgian) in the 4th century to mark the coming of Christianity to Georgia. We visit 11th century Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, used for centuries for the coronation and burial of Georgian monarchs. Most importantly, it is considered one of the holiest places in Georgia, since the Robe of Christ is buried here. Svetitskoveli is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Georgia, with exquisite carvings and frescoes. Spare time for shopping and strolling around Mtskheta streets. Driving to Kazbegi. Throught Georgian Military Road and along the gorge of the river Aragvi we head to the Greater Caucasus mountain. After Jinvali reservoir will appear impressive and powerful Ananuri fortress. Accomodation at the “Hotel Rooms” in Kazbegi. Supper. Overnight.

Day 3

In the morning walk up to Gergeti Church (2150m). Walk down. Trip north from Kazbegi to Dariali Canyon and take 1 – 2 hour trek in Gveleti Valley. Return Kazbegi. Free time.

Day 4

Morning drive through Sno Valley to reach village Juta (2150m) and enjoy a trekking into the circuit of the Chaukhi Mountains.

Day 5

Return to Tbilisi. Transfer to airport.
